Morgan/Alliance has made a strong commitment to quality. Our goal is to create long-term partners by exceeding customer expectations through quality products, value and on time delivery.

Some of the ways we are reaching our goal:

  • Formal procedure-based systems that have been in place since 1991
  • Development of a quality control manual that is tailored to our industry needs
  • State accredited apprentice programs for our machinists
  • Internal training programs for welders, fitters and assemblers
  • ASME Pressure Vessel Code certification by year end
  • We are not ISO Certified, however, we do work all over the world for ISO Certified companies

Machine Department
Inspections and checks for quality control are made between each step of the machining operations before being processed to the next step. Typical equipment used to perform these operations:

  • Layout Tables
  • Brinell Hardness
  • Ultrasonic & Dye penetrant, etc.
  • Micrometers, Dial Indicators, Scales, Verniers and other necessary measuring equipment
  • Profilometer (for surface quality of finish)

Erection Department
Assembled equipment is checked for proper alignment, squareness, span and height to comply with the specifications and our quality requirements. This is accomplished by using:

  • Measuring equipment
  • Optical level
  • Transit
  • Tachometer
  • Ammeters

Shop Testing
Before the product is shipped out, the cranes are assembled as completely as possible and all motions are operated without load. Purchasers are invited to be present for the shop test and inspection.

Structural Department
Inspections and checks for quality are made between each step of the manufacturing process. Fitting and welding is inspected according to the drawing specification, applicable AWS requirements and in accordance with our shop procedures.

Equipment used for performing these operations are:

  • Magnaflux
  • Magnaglow
  • Ultra-sonic Test
  • Dye Penetrant
  • Normal Necessary Measuring Equipment
  • Temperature gauges
  • Optical level
  • Brinell Hardness

Efficiency

  • Formal procedure-based systems have been in place since 1991
  • Large facilities allow less breakdown of products for shipping, reducing costs of reassembly at it’s destination

Quality Control

  • We developed a quality control manual that is tailored to our industry needs
  • Anticipate ASME Pressure Vessel Code certification by years end
  • We are not ISO Certified, however, we do work all over the world for ISO Certified companies
